How to switch from a hardware dongle to a license file on my hard drive?

Introduction

This document outlines how you have to move your license from dongle to hard drive.

The following procedure should only be followed if you are still using a dongle with v4 of ProofMaster or PrintFactory.

Deactivating your license

  • Make sure your dongle is in the computer.
  • Restart your computer, making sure the dongle is connected to the computer before the restart.
  • Launch the ProofMaster or PrintFactory RIP, and go to License Info. Click the Deactivate button to deactivate your license.
  • Remove your dongle from the computer.

Reactivating your license online

If the computer is connected to the internet, you can activate your license through the following procedure:

  • After you have deactivated your license and removed the dongle from the computer, open License Info again.
  • Click the Activate button and enter your registration code. You can find your registration code on your license voucher.
  • Click next. You now get to see the activation confirmation screen.
  • Your license is now activated on the hard drive. You no longer need a dongle.

Reactivating your license offline

If the computer is not connected to the internet, you can activate your license through the following procedure:

  • After you have deactivated your license and removed the dongle from the computer, open License Info again.
  • Click the Activate button and enter your registration code. You can find your registration code on your license voucher.
  • Save the configuration file, and go a computer that is connected tot the internet.
     
  • Open your web browser and go to the following URL: http://support.proofmaster.net/register/Activate.asp
  • Upload the exported configuration file on that web page:
     
  • You will now receive an email with a “License.cfg” file attached. Save that file on the computer that has PrintFactory or ProofMaster installed.
  • Open the “License.cfg” file in the activation wizard:
     
  • Click Next and Finish.
  • Your license is now activated on the hard drive. You no longer need a dongle.
